Abstract

Objectives:

The purpose of this study is to present four case reports on the treatments of psoriasis initiated after acute tonsillitis.

Methods:

We administered herbal medicine to four patients who showed psoriasis symptoms after acute tonsillitis and evaluated the results by Psoriasis Area and Severity Index(PASI).

Results:

After the treatment all four patients showed improvements in PASI. PASI of patient 1 changed from 27.7 to 1.8; patient 2 from 19.8 to 0.4; patient 3 from 28.8 to 0; patient 4 from 6.9 to 0.

Conclusions:

The results suggest that herbal medicine can be an effective treatment for psoriasis of which the occurrence is related to acute tonsillitis
